During your stay at Suburban Hospital, your care may be coordinated by specially trained practitioners known as hospitalists. They are board-certified medical professionals from the Johns Hopkins Community Physician Hospitalist Program who specialize in providing care for hospitalized patients. Hospitalists work solely in the hospital setting and use their training to care for patients from admission to discharge.

Our hospital-based practitioners strive to communicate regularly with patients, family members, the patient’s primary care physician and any necessary specialists to provide a seamless interaction.

We are available from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day of the week. After 5 p.m., we have a hospitalist assigned to help with admissions and take care of any emergencies that arise.
