Providing lifesaving care to more than 58,000 patients in FY25— with projected growth of 16% over the next three years—our ED is operating well beyond capacity.

Modernizing Suburban Hospital's Emergency Department
For decades, Suburban Hospital has earned the trust of this community by delivering exceptional care when it matters most. As the only Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery County, Suburban provides life-saving services for patients across the region. Our Emergency Department (ED) has been recognized with multiple awards for excellence in emergency care, reflecting sustained achievement in quality, safety, and teamwork. Additionally, our nurses are nationally recognized for their expertise and leadership, and our outcomes consistently exceed expectations.

Suburban Hospital’s ED/Trauma Modernization Project is anticipated to cost ~$75M and require 4 years and seven phases of construction to finish. Building on our strong foundation—including broad clinical capabilities, a stellar reputation, and patient satisfaction scores consistently above the 90th percentile—the redesigned space will ensure Suburban Hospital is well-positioned to meet the current and future emergency needs of our socioeconomically diverse community for generations to come.
