Nursing Awards and Recognition

The DAISY Award

Special thank you to the Sibley Foundation for supporting such a wonderful accolade! The DAISY award is an internationally acknowledged recognition program to celebrate registered nurses that have exemplified extraordinary and compassionate patient care. The DAISY Foundation was founded by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who passed away from Idiopathic Thrombcytopenic Purpura (ITP), an autoimmune disease, at age 33. Patrick’s family was extremely grateful for the skillful and compassionate care that Patrick received from his nurses and in his memory, they established a recognition program called the DAISY Award (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) for Extraordinary Nurses to continue to thank nurses for their exemplary care giving.

A DAISY Award is given to a deserving nurse each quarter, based on criteria established to meet Sibley’s mission and values. The Award was established to celebrate the extraordinary compassion nurses provide their patients and families every day.

All of our DAISY winners receive recognition on the DAISY Award website, reduced tuition at Chamberlain College of Nursing, reduced cost on ANCC certification or renewal, and recognition through various forms of social media.

If you would like to nominate a nurse please fill out the form below and email your submission to Daniella Bryce at [email protected].
