Masking Is Strongly Recommended

Due to an increase in respiratory infections, masking is strongly recommended for patients and visitors in all Johns Hopkins Medicine facilities located in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia.

In addition:

  • Departments or services caring for vulnerable populations, such as oncology, may require mandatory masking.
  • Care partners and visitors should not visit if they have:
    • a fever
    • upper respiratory symptoms
    • the flu
    • respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)
    • COVID-19
  • Patients should wear a mask if they have upper respiratory symptoms or a fever.
