A facelift is a cosmetic surgical procedure that lifts and tightens sagging skin on the face and neck to create a smoother and more youthful appearance. A mini facelift is a modified version of the procedure with a smaller incision and less cutting of underlying tissue.

Getting a facelift is a highly individualized decision that starts with a candid discussion with one of our experts. He or she will take a detailed medical history and carefully consider your general health, skin condition, scarring tendency and other factors in the context of what you want your facelift to achieve.
Your surgeon will take pictures so he or she can study your face and may discuss other options, such as an eyelid lift or dermal fillers.
-
In preparing for your facelift or mini facelift, you may be asked to temporarily avoid certain over-the-counter medications as your surgery date nears.
The surgery takes place under general anesthesia, requiring you to arrange for transportation to and from the surgical facility.
-
When your facelift procedure is complete, you will likely have dressings, drains or both. You will need to return to the surgeon a few days after the procedure to get the sutures (stitches) removed. Sutures can come out in five to 10 days after your procedure.
Recovery from a facelift or mini facelift takes several weeks. Following your post-surgery instructions is very important. You will receive details on addressing swelling and bruising, and on managing any discomfort.
The instructions will also advise when you can resume regular activities and when to call the office in case of any unexpected changes or problems.
