Sibley Memorial Hospital’s Renaissance skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility has been named a Top Performer in U.S. News & World Report’s annual ranking of nursing homes.

Sibley Memorial Hospital’s Renaissance skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility has been named a Top Performer in U.S. News & World Report’s annual ranking of nursing homes. The ratings are based on U.S. News & World Report’s in-depth analysis of publicly available data, according to the organization. 

Nursing homes received one of three ratings -- High Performing, Average or Below Average for both short-term rehabilitation and for long-term care. Sibley’s Renaissance facility won a Top Performing ranking in the short-term category since the unit does not provide long-term care.  Only 19% of U.S. nursing homes earned at least one top ranking.

Sibley’s is an interdisciplinary rehabilitation program that is tailored to help people become more independent. It serves as a bridge between acute care and unassisted living, providing a more focused and consistent level of support and attention than what would be available in a traditional rehabilitation setting. The facility is hospital-based, but is governed by the same regulations as nursing homes in the District of Columbia. This 45-room facility provides individualized, comprehensive care to meet the health needs of each resident.
