John Davis Named Vice President of Nursing and CNO at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center

John Davis, M.B.A., D.N.P., R.N., F.N.P.-B.C., N.E.-B.C., has been selected as the new vice president and chief nursing officer at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, effective Sept. 29.
In his new role, Davis will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of optimal patient care through the coordination of nursing and patient care services, maintenance of quality assurance standards, and the appropriate allocation and management of nursing resources. In addition, Davis will be responsible for respiratory therapy and capacity and throughput for the hospital.
Davis has 15 years of nursing and nursing leadership experience. He comes to Johns Hopkins Bayview from University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), where he has served as chief nursing officer since 2021. There, Davis developed a reputation as a visionary leader with a solid track record for driving strategic growth and excellent patient outcomes.
Davis began his nursing career at the Cleveland Clinic, where he first worked as a registered nurse in the cardiac step-down unit at the main campus before being promoted to nurse manager at Cleveland Clinic Florida and, eventually, to director of nursing for inpatient, critical care and emergency nursing at Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital.
Davis holds a Master of Business Administration from Capella University, a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Akron and a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Cincinnati.
Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center prepares to submit its first Magnet designation document this fall, with Davis leading the Medical Center through the process.
