Johns Hopkins Health Plans Announces New Chief Medical Officer

BALTIMORE– On Feb 3, — Dr. Don Liss became the new Chief Medical Officer of Johns Hopkins Health Plans.

A long-time advocate for strategies that cultivate health equity and improve quality of care, Dr. Liss will lead key clinical initiatives and facilitate strong collaboration between Johns Hopkins Health Plans and the health care providers we serve.

Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Liss graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine. He completed his categorical residency in Internal Medicine and a Chief Medical Residency at Temple University Hospital and fellowship in General Internal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. A physician with over 20 years of senior leadership in managed care and health insurance, Dr. Liss previously served as Chief Medical Officer at Jefferson Health Plans and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, as well as in key roles at Aetna, Independence Blue Cross and CVS Health.
