Johns Hopkins Medicine Launches Awards Program to Recognize Clinical Excellence - 12/22/2015
Johns Hopkins Medicine Launches Awards Program to Recognize Clinical Excellence
2015 Winners Announced Across the Health System
Release Date: December 22, 2015
Johns Hopkins Medicine launched its first awards program aimed to recognize physicians and care teams in all of its member hospitals and Johns Hopkins Community Physicians locations who embody the best in clinical excellence. Established by the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians, the awards were open to physicians and care teams associated with The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Johns Hopkins Community Physicians, All Children’s Hospital, Howard County General Hospital, Sibley Memorial Hospital and Suburban Hospital.
“It made sense to establish an awards program to honor those who so tirelessly give of themselves to those in need,” says Paul B. Rothman, M.D., dean of the medical faculty and CEO of Johns Hopkins Medicine. “All of our staff members work hard at their jobs, but to have an opportunity to be recognized by your peers makes these awards that much more special.”
The recipients, who were nominated by their colleagues, were honored for their commitment to the mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine and their consistent dedication to providing excellent patient care.
A total of 42 honorees received a gold pin and a framed medal at a recent ceremony with Rothman; William Baumgartner, M.D., senior vice president of the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians; and Johns Hopkins University President Ronald J. Daniels.
