Today, Johns Hopkins All Children’s announced a transformational $40 million donation from Tom Golisano to support the expansion to Wesley Chapel, Florida. It is the largest gift in the 100-year history of Johns Hopkins All Children’s.

The new five-story, 56-bed hospital will be known as Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, Golisano Children’s Medical Center at Wesley Chapel and is expected to open in the fall of 2027. The donation supports a $300-plus million project on a site near Interstate 75 and Overpass Road in Pasco County. It will bring expert pediatric care from the hospital ranked #1 in Florida the past three years by U.S. News & World Report to families in the rapidly growing region north of Tampa.

B. Thomas Golisano is an entrepreneur, philanthropist and civic leader who founded Paychex Inc., the nation’s largest human resource company for small to medium-sized businesses. Personally and through the Golisano Foundation, he has donated more than $1 billion to help hospitals, educational institutions and many other organizations.

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Golisano Children’s Medical Center will be part of the Golisano Children’s Alliance, which started in October 2025 and now includes 21 hospitals around the country that Golisano has supported with more than $750 million.

The Golisano Children’s Alliance initiative seeks to elevate pediatric care across the United States. The Alliance provides strategic funding and brings together leading children’s hospitals to expand services, strengthen collaboration, and ensure that children and families have access to the highest quality medical care close to home. The Alliance seeks to build a nationally recognized network that exemplifies excellence, dignity and innovation in pediatric healthcare, improving outcomes for children and families nationwide.

“As a father and grandfather, I've seen firsthand what it means for a family to have a great children's hospital close to home in a difficult moment,” Golisano says. “My hope is that no family, no matter where they live or what they can afford, has to travel far or wonder if their child will get the best care available.”

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Golisano Children’s Medical Center will feature a 17-room Emergency Department, four operating rooms, an infusion center, sleep laboratory, a gastroenterology procedures suite, and inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services. The second floor of the new hospital will include a 25,000-square-foot outpatient care space with 36 rooms. The 112-acre site provides room to grow with the community.
