Jennifer Maniscalco, M.D., M.P.H., M.Ac.M., Selected for Distinguished Educators Group

Jennifer Maniscalco, M.D., M.P.H., M.Ac.M., director of Medical Education and Designated Institutional Official for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, has been selected as a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Educators in Pediatrics (NADEP).
Maniscalco is in the third cohort of NADEP, which is part of the Academic Pediatric Association and works to enhance the visibility and prestige of pediatric educators and support the pediatric medical education community in the United States.
In her role at Johns Hopkins All Children’s, Maniscalco leads the undergraduate and graduate medical education programs and supports educational leaders in developing innovative, individualized training opportunities across the continuum of pediatric medical education. During her tenure, the number of GME programs has grown from six to nineteen and several education-related professional development activities have been implemented.
Her primary interests are in clinical teaching, promoting trainee autonomy and mentorship. Based on her prior work related to Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) fellowship education, Maniscalco is a past recipient of the PHM Award for Educational Excellence and two-time recipient of the PHM Award for Collaborative Impact. She remains involved in national educational efforts, including the Association of Medical School Pediatric Department Chairs Pediatrics Workforce Initiative.
