Outpatient Imaging Sites: Updates & Expansions

Emmanuel Nwana, Bethesda PET/CT technologist.The five Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging (JHMI) sites continue to provide exemplary patient care and imaging services to their communities around Maryland and D.C. The Bethesda location oversaw the installation of a new PET/CT scanner. The Columbia Medical Center site installed a new DEXA scanner and new ultrasound equipment. Meanwhile, construction begins at Wilde Lake Pavilion to provide mammography, ultrasound, and DEXA services alongside MRI, CT, and x-ray exams in one location by Fall 2026.
Wilde Lake Pavilion in Columbia.Beyond equipment upgrades and replacements, the Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging staff work closely with Johns Hopkins radiology faculty members to bring improvements to existing exams, such as shorten MRI scan times and promoting a new recommended heart rate for Cardiac CTA scans. The nursing team at JHMI is closely integrated with the JHH nursing group, and they successfully launched ultrasound-guided IV placements as needed for JHMI patients.
As 2025 closes and 2026 begins, Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging carries on its reputation of Johns Hopkins quality and expertise within the comfort and accessibility of local communities.
