Coming to Johns Hopkins has been both a professional honor and a deeply personal journey. Relocating from Los Angeles, I arrived with great respect for what this institution represents and profound gratitude for the opportunity to serve. Johns Hopkins has an extraordinary legacy of excellence in patient care, discovery, education and service — a legacy shaped by the visionary leaders and dedicated colleagues who have come before us.

It is an honor to work alongside such exceptional clinicians, scientists, trainees and staff members. I am inspired by our department’s unwavering commitment to patients and to advancing our field, and I am thrilled to partner with this remarkable team as we build a future that is patient-centric, mission-driven and grounded in compassion, collaboration and innovation.

With humility and shared purpose, I look forward to learning from one another and working together to advance care for the patients and communities we are privileged to serve.

Maie St. John, M.D., Ph.D.
Director of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery
Andelot Professor of Laryngology and Otology
