In partnership with Baltimore City Public Schools, Vision to Learn and Warby Parker, the Wilmer Eye Institute launched Vision for Baltimore in 2016. Under the leadership of Megan Collins, M.D., M.P.H., the Allan and Claire Jensen Professor of Ophthalmology, the program, established as a tool to combat pediatric eye health disparities, provides eye exams, vision screenings and eyeglasses to elementary and middle school students.

Since 2016, nearly 8,000 students were screened, and more than 12,000 eye exams were conducted.

In 2022, the program reached a milestone as it provided its 10,000th pair of eyeglasses.
