Academic Specialists at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center

Led by Dr. Mostafa Borahay, the division provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care in a hospital-based academic setting. Eight faculty members manage a broad range of clinical services while also contributing substantially to the department’s academic mission. The group maintains a strong research orientation, with faculty engaged in collaborative clinical studies and translational efforts, complementing the separate laboratory work already highlighted. Educationally, the team plays a central role in residency and medical student training, offering hands-on teaching and individualized mentorship across inpatient and outpatient settings.

- Obstetric Care: Management of both routine and high-risk pregnancies, available in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Gynecologic Services: Contraceptive counseling, gynecologic surgeries, and minimally invasive procedures.
- Specialty Practices: Focused care in areas such as cervical dysplasia, early pregnancy loss, adolescent contraception, menopausal care, post-gynecologic cancer recovery, and perinatal mental health.
