Development Philanthropy

Stride and Thrive participants hold up the amount of numbers representing dollars raised from the 2025 event

The Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics is grateful for the visionary philanthropy of our donors, whose contributions are vital to our mission. This support sustains our initiatives and inspires new possibilities.

The impact of these gifts resonates throughout our department and the communities we serve. Thanks to generous donor support, we have launched numerous initiatives that enhance education, research and patient care. Notable examples are our continuing education lectureships, which empower health care professionals with the latest advances in women’s health, and research grants that give faculty and fellows protected time for discovery.

Additionally, our patient programs — such as survivor retreats and monthly support groups — offer important resources that foster community and connection during challenging times. Our outreach efforts include distribution of feminine hygiene products to those in need.

Make an Impact

There are many ways to get involved with the department, such as joining a Below the Belt Stride and Thrive 5K team, hosting a special event fundraiser or making a gift to support our programs. Your support is vital to our success.

Donations

Consider making a one-time gift to support an area that aligns with your values and interests. For sustained impact, join our monthly giving program to provide reliable, year-round support for our mission. We also welcome planned gifts and alternative forms of support, including stocks, appreciated assets and IRA transfers. Check with your employer about gift-matching programs — many companies offer this benefit, which can double or even triple your contribution’s impact.

Host A Fundraiser

Whether you’re planning a dedicated fundraiser or celebrating a personal milestone, your creativity can inspire others to give. Turn your birthday, graduation or wedding into an opportunity for meaningful change by creating a personal fundraising page. This platform allows you to share your story, engage your network and track your fundraising progress while adding deeper purpose to life’s special moments.

Volunteering

Currently, we have two dynamic volunteer-led committees: the Below the Belt Stride and Thrive Race Committee, which supports research, education and survivorship programming, and the Center for Fetal Therapy Parent Council, which helps shape and improve the patient experience and raise funds for research and patient needs. Throughout the year, we also need volunteers to support various events that advance our mission and bring our community together.
