Meet Courtney Cornell: Vice President of Nursing and Chief Nursing Officer

In August 2024, we were thrilled to welcome Courtney Cornell, M.S.N., R.N., O.C.N., to her new role as vice president of nursing and chief nursing officer.

In August 2024, we were thrilled to welcome Courtney Cornell, M.S.N., R.N., O.C.N., to her new role as vice president of nursing and chief nursing officer. In this position, Courtney oversees all aspects of nursing for the hospital, including leading our efforts for ongoing Magnet designation.

In her most recent role, she held the title of director of nursing operations. During her tenure, she played an integral role in supporting the operation of Suburban’s inpatient and outpatient units by assisting with budget management through staffing, patient and utilization of space.

Courtney is a key member of the nursing team and our larger Suburban family. She has served on several key hospital-wide committees. She was also named employee of the year in 2023 and received a DAISY team award in 2019.

Courtney earned a bachelor’s in nursing from Loyola University of Chicago and a master’s in nursing leadership and management from Western Governors University.
