When I think about Suburban Hospital, the first thing that comes to mind is our unique and incredible culture. We pride ourselves on caring for our community and each other. This support isn’t just a perk to being on the team – it’s an intentional commitment that has been fostered over many years. We are the best we can be because we know our colleagues are cheering us on every step of the way.
Nurses are at the heart of creating and maintaining this amazing culture. Your dedication to your work and your patients radiates throughout our halls, inspiring us all to action.
It all starts with a dedication to nursing excellence. In 2024, we celebrated our second Magnet designation with nine exemplars. Our first designation was powerful, but receiving the second designation felt so very special. It is a true validation of the ongoing and sustained strength of nursing and our entire organization as we strive to provide the best care to our community and the best environment for our teams to practice.
These accolades reflect the dedication, compassion and determination of our nursing team and ripple out to inspire others in our community to follow suit. Over the past three years, Suburban Hospital’s employee engagement has grown to reach the 90th percentile nationally. That is an impressive feat that highlights our culture of collaboration beyond our nursing team! I cannot express how proud I am of those who give everything they can to this work so that we can excel in our mission.
It’s been a year since I transitioned into my new role as president and chief operating officer, but I will always be a nurse at heart. And as a nurse, it is an honor to stand among you all. I am humbled to be able to support this team in a new, elevated way. As I watch you work and grow together, I remain in constant awe of the skill and heart you bring to your profession.
