Optometry has long been an integral component of the Wilmer Eye Institute, and its role has grown in recent years with the establishment of a dedicated residency program. Launched in 2023, the year-long program emphasizes primary eye care, with a particular focus on contact lens management.

Wilmer’s inaugural optometry resident, Bradley Salus, O.D., joined the faculty shortly after completing the program.

The residency will expand later this year to accommodate two trainees.
