Johns Hopkins All Children’s Celebrates 2025 Residency Graduation

In some ways, graduating from the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Pediatric Residency program marks an ending, culminating a journey of long hours, hard work and careful study. But in many other ways, it is a beginning for the 11 graduates who now embark on different paths into medical practice or more specialized training.
“You’ve been tested, and you’ve proven yourselves more than ready,” says George Jallo, M.D., vice dean and physician-in-chief at Johns Hopkins All Children’s in St. Petersburg, Florida, at the ceremony. “As you move forward, carry with you the lessons learned here — the value of collaboration, the necessity of compassion, and the importance of lifelong learning.”
The ninth graduating residency class since the program began in 2014 celebrated Saturday at the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Research and Education Building, their home base for the past three years.
Residency program director Mary Beth Wroblewski, M.D., praised the development and accomplishments of the graduating class.
“I am so proud of all that the Class of 2025 has accomplished over the past three years,” Wroblewski says. “They have learned a lot about themselves and have grown into their roles as pediatricians caring for the most vulnerable population of patients. They have expanded the science of medicine with scholarly work and presentations at local, regional and national meetings, published research papers and even published a children's book.
“Our graduates have gained their foundation at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, but I look forward to following the progression of their careers, whether as primary care providers or fellowship-trained specialists knowing that all they do will be All For Kids."
Along with diplomas for the graduates, several received awards, including:
- Clinic Department Award: Alexa Magner, M.D.
- Emergency Medicine Department Award: Braidy Megeff, M.D.
- Hospital Medicine Department Award: Samantha Melo-Delacruz, M.D.
- PICU Department Award: Braidy Megeff, M.D.
- Resident of the Year: Samantha Melo-Delacruz, M.D.
- Resident Scholar of the Year: Nadaa Kemmou, M.D.

- Resident Educator of the Year Award: Braidy Megeff, M.D.
- Allen W. Root, M.D., Award for Continuous Excellence in Residency: Cady Rodney, M.D.
Jallo also lauded the resilience of both the resident physicians and the patients and families alongside them.
“You’ve navigated sleepless nights, demanding rotations, and emotionally intense cases,” Jallo tells the group. “And through it all, you’ve grown into the compassionate, capable and resilient pediatricians we see before us today.
“In your time here, you haven’t just mastered medicine—you’ve learned the art of care. You’ve witnessed the incredible strength of children facing illness, and the courage of families in crisis. And you’ve learned that healing extends beyond prescriptions and procedures—it lies in empathy, presence and human connection.
“Your patients have trusted you with their lives, and you’ve honored that trust with skill and heart. You’ve been advocates, educators, and healers—and your impact will ripple through countless lives in the years to come.”
