Sterile fluid supply: Like many medical facilities across the nation, our supply chain is feeling the effects of Hurricane Helene’s aftermath. Johns Hopkins Medicine currently has a sufficient sterile fluid supply to meet treatment, surgical and emergency needs. However, we have put proactive conservation measures into place to ensure normal operations, always with patient safety as our first priority. Examples of sterile fluids include intravenous (IV), irrigation and dialysis fluids. Learn more.

Howard County General Hospital’s display of holiday lights, now in its 22nd year, returns to its drive-through course in Merriweather Park at Symphony Woods.
A dazzling display of more than 100 oversized animated and stationary holiday light creations—made up of some 250,000 LED colorful bulbs—awaits visitors to Howard County General Hospital’s Symphony of Lights. Now in its 22nd year, the popular holiday drive-through course in Merriweather Park at Symphony Woods has attracted nearly 2 million people since 1995. Proceeds from the event in Columbia, Maryland, have raised more than $7.5 million to benefit the hospital. New elements this year include a laser light show, 3-D holiday video (projected 50 feet high at Merriweather Post Pavilion) and an outdoor skating rink.
