Encephalitis Experts

The team at the Johns Hopkins Encephalitis Center includes neurologists, pathologists and physicians with expertise in inflammation, infectious disease and critical care, who work together to improve the diagnosis and treatment of patients with encephalitis. Many of them participate in ongoing research to better understand this disease, its causes and consequences, in order to develop new techniques for diagnosis and treatment.

Our team also works with the Johns Hopkins Department of Radiology to explore brain FDG-PET as a biomarker for diagnosis and staging of autoimmune encephalitis.

The Johns Hopkins Epilepsy Center has adult and pediatric programs for ketogenic diet that can benefit encephalitis patients experiencing seizures.
