Health care simulation serves as the bridge between classroom learning and real-life clinical experience — improving clinical care and patient safety and quality.
We work with universities, hospitals, health systems and governments to deliver simulation training and education. The Johns Hopkins Simulation Center enables health care professionals to use simulation to practice their craft, hone their skills, refine advanced techniques and learn valuable social interactive tools for delivering important news to patients.
Our fully accredited, state-of-the-art sim center incorporates five types of simulation to improve safety for patients around the globe. We help familiarize organizations with new procedures, technologies, processes and equipment before real-world application.
We use an interprofessional approach to simulation education and training. We design learning experiences that support patient physical safety and psychological safety. Hands-on training introduces best practices in patient safety and quality of care, and teaches critical thinking and problem-solving in an environment that does not put the patient at risk.
Johns Hopkins offers a range of services, from the introduction to or enhancement of existing simulation training to the development of a simulation center from the ground up. Our robust consultancy programs are available as a comprehensive package or in a modular fashion. Depending on organizational need, engagements may be as short as several months to approximately one to two years.
