Applications and Admissions

The summer cohort application window is open from December 1 to March 1, with classes beginning in July.

The winter cohort application window is open from July 1 to October 1, with classes beginning in January.

Applications and all supporting documents and transcripts must be received by the application deadline.

Admission Requirements

Individuals must present a strong academic background, especially in the supporting sciences. They need to demonstrate responsibility, a character of high moral integrity, good interpersonal skills, and compassion.

All applicants are required to participate in a shadow day (4 hours minimum) at an echo lab of their choice. Please email [email protected] to inquire about shadowing opportunities.

All applicants must attend an information session to apply. Information sessions are held virtually every first Friday in December and July from 12pm to 1pm.

Applicants must be 18 years old, a US citizen, permanent resident, and have a minimum of an associate degree by the date of matriculation with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

We cannot sponsor international students for an F-1 or J-1 Visa.

  • Official post-high school transcripts
    • All official transcripts must be sent directly from the college or university to [email protected].
    • Foreign transcripts must be evaluated by a United States agency authorized to perform academic credential evaluations
    • Applicants with academic degrees from international institutions are required to take both the TOEFL and TEAS examinations within 12 months of the application deadline
  • Attend an information session. Sessions are held virtually every first Friday in December and July from 12pm to 1pm

The most competitive candidates will possess:

  • Previous experience in patient care or clinical environments
  • All prerequisite coursework complete at the time of interview
    • This is not a requirement to apply, but all degrees and prerequisites must be completed prior to the start of the program

Prerequisite Course

  • Anatomy & Physiology with Lab*: A minimum of two semesters of college-level anatomy and physiology with a lab are required.
  • Physics with Lab*: A minimum of one semester of college-level introductory physics with a lab is required.
  • Medical Terminology*: One medical terminology course is required. It must be an official academic course which results in a grade on an official school transcript.
  • College Algebra: A minimum of one semester of college algebra or a higher-level math course is required. Statistics will not satisfy this requirement.
  • Communications: May be satisfied by English, speech, or composition courses.

All prerequisite coursework must be completed by the date of matriculation with a grade of C or better.

*Anatomy & Physiology, Physics, and Medical Terminology cannot be more than five years old from start date of program.

The most competitive candidates will possess:

  • A GPA of at least 3.0
  • Previous experience in patient care
  • Previous experience shadowing a sonographer
  • All prerequisite coursework complete at the time of interview
    • This is not a requirement to apply, but all degrees and prerequisites must be completed prior to the program start
