Elaine’s Story: A Journey of Strength, Faith, and Healing

Elaine has been on a recurring cancer journey since 1991. Most recently, what began as a routine cardiology appointment led to an unexpected discovery – a baseball-sized tumor attached to her heart that had grown from her liver. Elaine’s complex case brought together a multidisciplinary team of surgical experts, each playing a vital role in her care.

Cardiac Surgery | Kaye and Matt's Story

A day before Matt was scheduled to have triple bypass surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, his wife, Kaye, was urgently sent to the hospital after some telling bloodwork. It was later discovered she had a serious infection of her mitral valve. Both husband and wife received successful surgical treatment at the Johns Hopkins Heart and Vascular Institute.
