Jennifer Lawton, M.D.

Dr. Jennifer Lawton is a cardiac surgeon. She cares for adult women who need cardiac surgery including valve repair or replacement, aortic surgery, or coronary revascularization. She provides minimally invasive aortic valve replacement. Her research interests include outcomes following cardiac surgery in women, unique factors to women during heart surgery, and the use of arterial grafts for coronary artery bypass surgery in women. She is particularly interested in increasing the use of arterial grafts for female patients who need coronary artery bypass grafting because these provide prolonged survival and have historically been used in women less when compared to men. She sees clinic patients at Green Spring Station location and performs surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
