The Johns Hopkins Heart Failure & Cardiac Transplantation team is dedicated to helping patients living with heart failure, from advanced stages and heart transplantation to HFpEF and cardiomyopathies. The heart failure faculty includes 12 full-time members across multiple locations, including specialized programs for Cardiac Amyloidosis, Sarcoidosis, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and hereditary heart disease.

Our adult heart transplant program is regionally and nationally ranked, performing a record-breaking number of transplants in 2024 and 2025, and with the leading donation-after circulatory-death heart transplant program in the region. Through our multidisciplinary care teams, we also perform adult congenital heart transplants, and we have a growing dual organ transplant program. In addition, we have an established desensitization program, allowing a greater number of patients to receive a transplant.
