This one-year Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-equivalent clinical fellowship provides a comprehensive training program for fellows interested in leading the field of cardiac critical care. Fellows gain an advanced fund of knowledge and specialized skills in the management of the cardiac surgery patient including ventricular assist devices, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and lung and heart transplants, emphasizing the critical nature of the patient’s recovery in the early postoperative course.
