Epic at Johns Hopkins

One Patient, One Record

Johns Hopkins Medicine now has a single, integrated electronic medical record system for the entire enterprise, with the exception of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. Epic incorporates scheduling and registration, clinical documentation, computerized provider order entry (CPOE), ePrescribing and Charge Capture. It also improves the critical connection to affiliate and referring physicians across Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Upgrade to Epic 2017
On Sept. 10, Johns Hopkins Medicine upgraded from Epic 2014 to Epic 2017. Please visit the Clinical Information Systems Epic Upgrade page for tip sheets and training materials related to new upgrade features.

For any issues related to the upgrade, please contact your clinical informatics teams or a designated super-user. If a support person is not available, please call the Epic help desk at 410-955-EPIC (3742). Be sure to use HERO for any patient safety issues. Visit this web page for training resources and materials to help you prepare for the upgrade.
