Travel Immunizations

School of Medicine residents, interns, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and medical students approved for an elective abroad should make arrangements for a pre-travel consultation, and to receive travel immunizations, from the Johns Hopkins Travel and Tropical Medicine Clinic located at 615 N. Wolfe Street, Room WB031.

The telephone number is 410-955-8931; the email address is [email protected].

When making appointment to get travel immunizations or pre-travel consultation, it is recommended to schedule at least 4-6 weeks prior to your travel arrangements

Please notify the person scheduling your visit that you have been approved for an elective abroad. Travel clinic staff will note the approved elective and send the bill for immunizations to University Health Services for review.

Once authorization is determined, payment for travel immunizations goes directly to the travel clinic billing department.

Please note, your SHP insurance does not allow benefits for travel immunizations.

If for any reason, you get a bill for approved travel immunizations, do not pay it, and contact University Health Services at 410-955-3872 for immediate assistance. Please note that this benefit applies only for approved electives and does not apply to personal travel.
