Orthopedic/Spine/Trauma/ General Surgery (Zayed 11 East)

Perioperative care of inpatients undergoing orthopedic, ortho-spine, trauma and general surgery procedures. Nurses consistently participate in interdisciplinary care by working together with physicians, physical and occupational therapists, and case managers. We strive to maintain the Forces of Magnet Excellence with a strong focus on clinical practice, performance improvement and education.

Patient Population

• Ages 16 and up
• Average length of stay: 4 days

Number of Beds: 30

Nurse/Patient Ratio:

• 1:4-5 days and evenings
• 1:6-7 nights

Rotation/Shifts

• 8 and 12 hours/ rotating shifts
• Flexible, self-scheduling

Skill Mix

• RN and clinical associate staff

Orientation

• 8 weeks
