Interventional Radiology Center - IRC Interventional Neuroradiology Center -INRC (Zayed 3)

Administration of conscious sedation and comfort measures to patients undergoing interventional and/or diagnostic procedures.

Patient Population
  • All ages
  • Outpatients and inpatients
Number of Beds/Procedure Rooms
  • BBT 3:
    • 7 Angio rooms
    • 2 Interventional CT
    • 1 Interventional MRI
  • Weinberg: 2 rooms
Nurse/Patient Ratio
  • 1:1
Rotation/Shifts
  • Monday-Friday, 10- and 12-hour day shifts; on-call coverage required
Skill Mix
  • 100 percent RN; 100 percent BSN
  • Required competencies: acute care background; ICU background preferred; BLS, ACLS and PALS certification
Orientation
  • 10 to 12 weeks, including 2 weeks in the Neuroradiology Angio suite
  • 1 primary preceptor and a back-up
  • Core competency classes
  • Pass the ICU, pharmacology and dysrhythmia test
