In addition to caring for patients, our experts are at the forefront of research studying cerebrovascular disease in children, including:

  • Pioneering research in brain monitoring after intracerebral hemorrhage and neurologic outcomes.
  • New endovascular techniques for children with complex vascular malformations of the brain and spine.
  • Hopkins investigators are members of the International Pediatric Stroke Study, a worldwide effort to expand knowledge regarding childhood stroke.

"Gold Seal" Stroke Center

Gold SealThe Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and The Johns Hopkins Hospital have earned the Gold Seal of Approval for stroke care from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). Hopkins Bayview achieved its designation in January, 2005 and JHH did so in May, 2005. Both are amongst the first hospitals in Maryland to be awarded the distinct Primary Stroke Center Certification.   More>>>
