Neonatal Epilepsy

What does neonatal epilepsy mean?

Seizures occurring in a newborn are often caused by lack of oxygen to the fetus during labor and delivery, which can occur because of:

  • Metabolic disorders
  • Infections
  • Developmental disorders
  • Trauma
  • Difficulties in delivery
