• The Internal Grant Review Program (IGRP) notifies the department that the next cycle of internal reviews begins in 4 weeks.
• IGRP requests new and early- stage investigators to respond with their intent to go through the internal review process.

10 Weeks Before the NIH Due Date AIMS Presentations

• Aims Presentations (oral presentations /audience feedback)
• Committee review of specific aims and biosketch
• Internal reviewers are selected based on expertise and asked to review applications anonymously.

5 Weeks Before the NIH Due Date Submit Documents

• Applicant’s materials are due in the secure web portal called MyPeerReview.
• Internal reviewers are notified, obtain access to the system, and are given seven days to review the application.

4 Weeks Before the NIH Due Date Internal Evaluation

• Internal reviewers submit the completed NIH-style evaluation with scores and comments via MyPeerReview.
• All evaluations are provided to the applicant anonymously, with submission recommendations based on internal reviews.

4 Weeks Before the NIH Due Date Committee Feedback

The IGRP Committee makes an overall recommendation based on reviewers’ comments and recommendations to submit or delay but does not prevent the applicant from submitting.
