We hope you will join with us as the Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, fellow cancer survivors, and their families celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day. This day promises to be filled with inspiration. Highlights include:
Keynote Speaker: Allyson Green, B.S.N., R.N.
Allyson Green, B.S.N., R.N., has spent 21 years as a nurse caring for cancer patients and their families at Johns Hopkins. She was raised in Maryland, attended University of Delaware and returned home to begin her life's work after being encouraged by a professor who was an oncology nurse. She is inspired by the courage and resilience of her patients and in a whole new way when she herself was diagnosed last year with breast cancer. She will speak about her experience of surviving cancer, including the ways her patients have motivated her through their support.
Survivor Fashion Show:
The survivor fashion show will feature men and women who will shine in snappy outfits provided by local clothiers. Live music will accompany their walk on the Weinberg runway as they are recognized for their strength, courage adn hope in teh face of cancer.
Exhibits & Refreshments:
Survivorship information, community resources and light refreshments and desserts.
Fun games and activities including Boots the clown, pizza and refreshments
