On Friday, May 15th Edgewater local, Evan Wollman broke the Guinness World Record for the most distance covered on a personal watercraft within six hours. He traveled 231 miles in the time period, almost doubling the prior mark.
Evan committed to this achievement of endurance to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer research in honor of his father Dr. Sheldon Wollman who died earlier this year from the disease. According to Michael Hibler at the Kimmel Cancer Center, “breaking this record symbolizes not only a stunning accomplishment for Evan, but a great testament of support for others fighting cancer.”
The money raised from this event will support the prostate cancer research of Dr. Mario Eisenberger, The R. Dale Hughes Professor of Oncology and Urology at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
