- Eduardo Giez Estima traveled from his home country of Brazil for treatment after a colleague recommended he see Mohamad Allaf, M.D., director of minimally invasive and robotic urologic surgery at Johns Hopkins.
- Dr. Allaf removed Eduardo’s kidney tumor using a minimally invasive, kidney-sparing surgical approach pioneered at the Brady Urological Institute — and Eduardo was up walking the very same day.
- Eduardo and his wife were assisted throughout the process by a Portuguese language coordinator and the international office at Johns Hopkins.
