Hospitalists and Intensivists

Our hospitalists and intensivists provide coordinated, inpatient care at Suburban Hospital and Howard County General Hospital. Our hospital-based physicians strive to communicate regularly with the patient, their family, their primary care physician and any necessary specialists to provide a coordinated, seamless interaction.

Hospitalists are physicians who focus primarily on providing quality medical care to hospitalized patients. From the time a patient is admitted into in the hospital to the time that patient is discharged, a hospitalist works closely with the patient and the other physicians involved in his or her care to coordinate all aspects of the hospital stay.

Intensivists are physicians who specialize in caring for critically ill patients. Our intensivists direct the care of intensive care patients and collaborate with other healthcare professionals in the hospital to coordinate their medical management.
