Johns Hopkins Voice Center Expands to Bethesda

Dr. Clint Allen of the Voice Center

The Johns Hopkins Voice Center will begin seeing patients at the Johns Hopkins Health Care and Surgery Center in Bethesda on October 1, 2013.

Dr. Clint Allen, a new member of the Voice Center faculty, is a fellowship trained laryngeal surgeon who specializes in voice, swallowing and airway disorders.  Among his areas of expertise are endoscopic laser resection of upper aerodigestive tract cancers, surgical management of dysphagia and treatment of spasmodic dysphonia.

Dr. Allen's research focuses on investigating how head and neck tumors evade the natural anticancer immune response and how rationally designed targeted therapies may be used to limit head and neck cancer growth and metastasis.  He holds a joint appointment at the National Institutes of Health.

Residency: Barnes-Jewish / Washington University in St. Louis

Fellowship: University of Washington
