Neuropathology Studies in Transverse Myelitis

Dr Carlos Pardo’s laboratory supports the Transverse Myelitis Center in projects related to neuropathological analysis of brain and spinal cord tissue to determine the role of immune mechanisms mediated by T lymphocytes, microglia and astroglia in the pathogenesis of transverse myelitis. The development of a formal brain and spinal cord banking program allows us to improve research efforts involving spinal cord diseases.
