Our Units

The Johns Hopkins Hospital Neuroscience Nursing Department is comprised of five Neurology and Neurosurgery practice environments:

• 24-bed Critical Care Unit (NCCU)
• 6-bed Brain Rescue Unit (BRU)
• 26-bed Acute Adult Inpatient Unit (Zayed 12 West)
• 6-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
• 26-bed Acute Adult Inpatient Unit (Zayed 12 East)

Nurses practice with autonomy and are responsible for the care of patients with such diagnoses as:

• Brain tumors
• Aneurysms
• Degenerative spine disease
• Epilepsy
• Cerebrovascular disease
