Dr. Abhay Moghekar received his medical degree from the University of Bombay, India. He then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Harbor Hospital Center Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland followed by residency training in Neurology and a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at The Johns Hopkins University.
Now an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Moghekar's clinical work focuses on disorders of cerebrospinal fluid physiology like normal pressure hydrocephalus, obstructive hydrocephalus, congenital hydrocephalus, pseudotumor cerebri, CSF otorhhea, CSF rhinorrhea, intracranial hypotension due to spinal CSF leaks and peri-operative management of patients undergoing repair of CSF otorrhea and rhinorrhea.
Dr. Moghekar's research interest focuses on understanding the causes of normal pressure hydrocephalus, pseudotumor cerebri, intracranial pressure dynamics and the role of cerebrospinal fluid in Alzheimer's disease.
Dr. Moghekar currently sees patients in The Johns Hopkins Cerebrospinal Fluid Disorders Center located at The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center on Thursdays and Fridays.
