First, patients are initially evaluated by a Johns Hopkins neurologist in the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center. These physicians are specially trained in neuromuscular diseases and the multiple disorders closely related to CMT. Once diagnosis is confirmed by the neurologist, the multidisciplinary care team help develop an appropriate treatment plan for the patient. The team includes genetics counselors, physical therapists, occupational therapists and orthotists.
