Dr. Blakeley is now an Assistant Professor of Neurology, Oncology and Neurosurgery. She focuses her clinical efforts on the diagnosis and management of primary nervous system tumors. She is particularly focused on developing techniques to assess and maximize drug delivery to tumors and on early phase discovery trials for novel therapies in rare tumors. She is director of the research program Neurofibromatosis Therapeutic Acceleration Program which was founded to foster collaboration across various disciplines, institutions and stakeholders in therapeutic development to expedite the development of effective therapies for plexiform neurofibromas. Dr. Blakeley is also a member of the Adult Brain Tumor Consortium and the Department of Defense Neurofibromatosis Clinical Trials Consortium. These are cooperative groups made up of expert centers and funded by the National Cancer Institute and Department of Defense respectively to discover new therapies for nervous system tumors.
