Post-Graduate and Resident Training

We currently have positions available for highly qualified residents or post-graduate students interested in spinal biomechanics or outcomes research. Positions are open to neurology, orthopedics, and neurosurgery residents interested in surgical treatment of spinal disorders as well as MPH or PhD students interested in application of bio-statistical models to surgical outcomes research. Interested applicants should have a pre-existing understanding of spinal pathologies, interpretation of CT and MR imaging, and a strong desire to participate in projects aimed at improving the understanding of complex spinal reconstruction for the treatment of spinal disorders.

Medical Student Training

We currently have positions available for medical students interested in spinal biomechanics or clinical outcomes research. Year-long or summer research projects are available at the Spinal Column Biomechanics Laboratory located on the Hopkins Bayview medical campus. Ongoing research projects are also available at the Spinal Surgery Outcomes Laboratory located in the Hunterian Research Laboratory. Candidates should have a strong desire to participate in projects aimed at improving the understanding of complex spinal reconstruction for the treatment of spinal disorders.
