Several pathways are available before beginning Pediatric Neurology training at Johns Hopkins. Candidates may complete:
- two or three years of residency in an accredited Pediatric program
- one post-graduate year in Pediatrics and one post-graduate year in Internal Medicine, or,
- one post-graduate year in Pediatrics and a second post-graduate year of basic neuroscience research. The acceptability of the pre-requisite neuroscience research year is determined by the Director of Pediatric Neurology.
All applications are to be submitted through the San Francisco Match Program. We encourage applicants to consider and apply to the Pediatrics program at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, but this is not required.
The core training in Pediatric Neurology is a total of three years. The division of training is approximately 12 months in clinical Pediatric Neurology, 12 months in clinical Adult Neurology, and 12 months in clinical subspecialties and electives.
