Application Process

All Pediatric Neurology residency programs have transitioned from the San Francisco Match to the main residency match administered by the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).  For the 2012 match only, all applications must be submitted through the Association of University Professors.  It is anticipated that applicants will submit applications through the NRMP associated application service, ERAS, for the 2013 match.

We anticipate contacting prospective candidates regarding interviews by early October.   Around this time, we strongly urge you to check both e-mail and telephone machines daily for messages regarding interviews, however, our primary method of notification regarding selection for interviews will be via e-mail messages.

Interviews with Pediatric Neurology Faculty will be conducted on Wednesday afternoons, starting with an introductory lecture by the Directors at 2pm.   In conjunction with the Adult Neurology applicants, you are invited to dinner with our residents Wednesday evening and we invite and encourage you to stay over for activities scheduled on Thursday to include Grand Rounds, a tour of the facilities, and additional interview opportunities.  If you are interviewing at Hopkins for the Pediatric Residency prerequisite training, you can coordinate your interviews with them to occur on Wednesday or Friday mornings.

For the 2012 Match, our interview dates are:

  • November 30-December 1, 2011
  • December 21, 2011
  • January 4-5, 2012
  • January 11-12, 2012

Arrangements for interviews outside of the schedules dates may be negotiated, but our preference is that you participate in the scheduled dates for a better overall experience.
