High Resolution MRIs Detect Changes in Myelin

We continue to explore how new high resolution MRI techniques can not only reveal nerve degeneration in an animal model but also detect changes in myelin (Zhang et al, J Neuroscience, 2009).

This allows us to understand how MRI can be used in humans to detect nerve protection or remyelination in clinical trials of new drugs. Collaborators include Drs. Peter Calabresi, Susumu Mori, and Jiangyang Zhang.
