Prem Sagar Subramanian, M.D.

Visiting Associate Professor of Ophthalmology

Dr. Subramanian graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry. He went on to earn his medical degree and doctor in philosophy in molecular and human genetics from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Subramanian completed his residency in ophthalmology and was appointed chief resident at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Subramanian first joined Johns Hopkins for a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute.

Dr. Subramanian is a visiting associate professor of ophthalmology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and an associate professor of surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Until 2007, Dr. Subramanian served as a lieutenant colonel in the medical corps of the United States Army and was awarded several honors for his work, including the Army Commendation Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal. Dr. Subramanian is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the North American Neuro-ophthalmology Society.
